Our Services
Tree Services for East Valley Homes and Properties
Most calls we get fall into one of four jobs. Pick the one closest to yours, or call and tell us what you're looking at.
Tree Removal
When a tree is dead, failing, or in the wrong spot, we plan the removal to protect your house, walls, and yard. For large trees over roofs or in tight backyards, we bring in a crane and lift sections out. Stump grinding is available as part of the job.

We prune palo verdes, mesquites, and other desert trees to their natural shape, with clean cuts and no lion-tailing. Palm trimming and deseeding are part of this service too.

Why East Valley Homeowners Call Sonoran Tree Care
Sonoran Tree Care is a locally owned tree service company serving homeowners across Arizona’s East Valley for more than three decades. Owners Amanda and Marshall take a hands-on approach to every job, combining careful planning, proper tree care, and clear communication to make sure the work is done safely and your property is treated with respect.
The owners are on your job
Amanda and Marshall stay involved from your first call to the final cleanup. Amanda keeps you updated and the crew organized. Marshall runs the work in the field. You won't be handed off to someone you've never met.
Every lift is planned
Before Sonoran Tree Care, Marshall spent more than 10 years as a union millwright, rigging heavy loads where mistakes weren't an option. He brings that to tree work. We check limb weight and balance, inspect the rigging, and make sure everyone on the crew knows their role before a branch comes down.
Pruning that suits the tree
A palo verde, a mesquite, and an ironwood each grow differently, so we don't trim them the same way. We shape each tree to its natural structure and make clean cuts at the right spot. We don't strip out the inner branches (called lion-tailing), which leaves weight at the tips and weakens the tree.
Your yard, left clean
We want you to feel listened to, to get the work we promised, and to see your property treated with care. When we leave, we haul off the branches and rake and blow the area clean. If you’d like to keep some of the wood, just tell us when we plan the job.

Our Story
Four Generations of Tree Work, Rooted in Arizona
Amanda grew up around tree work as the fourth generation in the family trade. Marshall spent years doing rigging and safety work on industrial job sites. With her dad's encouragement, they built Sonoran Tree Care so they could run tree work their own way, with the owners on every job.
How We Work
The Right Equipment for Each Job
The tree, the yard, and what's underneath decide how we work. Before we quote, we assess access, the tree's condition, and what's nearby, then choose the safest method for your property.
Bucket truck with a 60-foot working height for trees and palms we can reach from the street or driveway.
Compact tracked lift for backyards behind gates and block walls, where a truck won’t fit.
Climbing and rigging when the tree has good tie-in points, and branches need to be lowered with control.
Crane access when large sections need to be lifted out over a house, pool, or wall.
We also bring a chipper and stump grinder, so we can clean up and grind the stump in the same visit when they're part of the job.

Emergency Tree Service
Storm Damage? Call Us the Same Day.
When monsoon winds bring down a tree or a heavy limb, we come out the same day. On the busiest storm days, we get you out of trouble first: the tree off your roof, the driveway cleared, and debris off your cars. Then we come back the next day for the rest.
We answer calls Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and weekends, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If a storm brings a tree down after hours, call anyway. We keep the phone on and get there as quickly and safely as we can. After-hours and storm work may cost more, and we always go over pricing with you before work starts.
If a tree or limb is touching a power line, stay clear and call your utility or 911 first.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to cut down a tree in Arizona?
It depends on the tree and the property. Size matters, but so do access, the tree’s condition, what’s underneath it, and whether the job needs a bucket truck, a lift, or a crane. Cleanup and stump grinding also affect the price. Our estimates are free and done on-site, so you see the full scope and price before any work starts.
How much does it cost to take down a 30-foot tree?
Height alone doesn’t set the price. A 30-foot tree in an open front yard is a very different job from a 30-foot tree leaning over a roof in a gated backyard. We look at the tree’s condition, access, the equipment needed, and anything nearby that could be damaged. Sending a few photos with your request helps us plan the visit.
Will insurance pay to have a tree cut down?
It depends on your policy and what happened, so check with your insurance company. After storm damage, we can give you an itemized estimate to submit with your claim.
How much can you cut off a tree without hurting it?
There isn’t one safe amount for every tree. Species, health, and season all change how much a tree can handle. We prune selectively: deadwood, problem branches, and weight on long, heavy limbs. We avoid stripping out the inner branches (lion-tailing) and heavy cuts during extreme heat or drought stress.
What is the most popular tree in Arizona?
The palo verde is Arizona’s state tree and one of the most common trees in the yards we work in, along with mesquites, palms, citrus, and ficus. Each one needs a different approach. Palo verdes need good structure without over-thinning, while mesquites often need weight taken off long, heavy limbs.
Are you insured?
Yes. Sonoran Tree Care carries general liability and workers’ compensation insurance. Certificates of insurance are available on request.
What areas do you serve?
We’re based in Mesa and serve Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, and most of Scottsdale and Phoenix. We also take larger jobs in Queen Creek, Fountain Hills, and Apache Junction.
